A Little About Me
Hey, welcome! 👋
I’m Doug. I’m an educator, a tech enthusiast, an amateur radio operator (yep, a “ham”), a photographer, and, more recently, a vintage typewriter collector. I also do on-site tech work, which keeps me tinkering with gear and solving problems on the go. If that sounds like a lot of hats, well, it kind of is. But that’s what keeps things fun.
Teaching is at the core of what I do. It’s not just a profession for me. It’s genuinely what I love. There’s nothing quite like that moment when something clicks for a student. That feeling never gets old.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me doing one (or more) of these:
- Geeking out over the latest tech, especially anything in the Apple ecosystem
- Clacking away on one of my vintage Smith-Corona typewriters (I have three and counting)
- Making contacts on amateur radio with people thousands of miles away
- Chasing the next great photo, whether it’s a landscape, a candid moment, or something abstract that caught my eye
- Diving into a good book, audiobook, or podcast
I started this blog as a place to write about the stuff I’m genuinely curious about. No agenda. No niche strategy. Just me, sharing what I find interesting and hoping some of it resonates with you, too.
Thanks for stopping by.
